Two types of riders on clipless pedals--those who have fallen, and those who will fall. The performance advantages are worth it, though. Stay with clipless and you will get faster.
I fell over at least 3 times when I started clipping in
i had probably 5 wipeouts in my first year. I have several big scars on my shoulders and 1 or 2 on my hip and butt.

Rode a bit over 22 miles Thursday and did the Red Bud Classic this morning at almost 30 miles, not too bad 39th overall ( out of 256) and 5th in my age group. Not supposed to be a race but a "time event" but it seemed like some were sure racing. Most important NO FALLLS on either, getting the feel for clipping in and out.

I went out before my ride, almost blew over and said screw this. Maybe tomorrow.

Good job on the RB.

According to my phone app, I walked just I've 3 1/2 miles today. That doesn't seem like much except that 97% of that was all in (and around) one building. I was doing an as built survey for a truck stop in my side business. 3 1/2 miles is a whole Lotta freaking walking when it's in a 15,000 square foot building. Worst part? I'm going back tomorrow to finish the job.

I rode a bike to work last week to try to add some miles. I only get about 12 per day on the commute, but hey, it's 12 I wouldn't have had.

This morning was cooler than I like with the wind, but nothing like yesterday. Can't say I'm a fan of this route north on may/grand, there are too many intersections to get through so it's slow going.

I rode 20 miles on Wednesday night, another 20 miles on Thursday night, 32 miles Saturday afternoon, and 62 miles this morning. I usually ride Tues/Thurs nights, but had a birthday party to attend this Tuesday. Shorter, faster rides on Saturdays, and Sunday is always my day to ride long. I only rarely ride Mon/Fri (recovery time).
