I started religious keto on monday. I knew this week would be a bust on the bike, and sure enough it has been. I'm solidly in ketosis today and feeling better, so I'm going to try to get a few miles this weekend. I suspect they won't be fun.

Plan is to drop weight and focus on gym with bike secondary for a month or so. I'm going to experiment with the riding and see if I can do it on almost no carbs. But I have my doubts.

I've had to stop my weight lifting for now because I'm going to have to have surgery on both of my shoulders. So, instead of weight training, I'm trying to get my butt out of my chair and get to walking. I'm not doing the distances you cyclists are putting down, but it is further than going to the fridge and back to my office, so it's an improvement. 😆

This is from today and I did basically the same on Tuesday.

I am just back from BAK (Biking Across Kansas. Pronounced "B-A-K", just as you would pronounce ESPN or CBS). BAK is a supported cross state tour of Kansas from west to east. I cycled 536 miles in eight days.
Here is the breakdown, day-by-day:
Saturday, June 10, 63 miles from Elkhart, Kansas to Satanta, KS
Sunday, 77 miles from Satanta to Spearville, KS
Monday, 66 miles from Spearville to Stafford, KS
Tuesday, 100 miles (optional century route) from Stafford to Newton, KS
Wednesday, 77 miles from Newton to Eureka, KS
Thursday, 62 miles from Eureka to Chanute, KS
Friday, 53 miles from Chanute to Garnett, KS
Saturday, June 17, 38 miles from Garnett to Pleasanton, KS

Sleep each night in a tent in one town, ride to the next town, sleep in a tent, rinse and repeat for eight days. Great fun! Legs are a little sore but ready for more!
