I've been thinking the same thing. I've been sitting on an unfinished AR-10 build for about a decade now. Every now and then I look at my parts and wonder if I should just sell them.

There used to something like a model 95 Winchester made in 30-06 and Browing used to make one - might still do. Henry has one called the Long Ranger or something. Saw one at the PX a year or so ago.

i initially jumped in without realizing how much more expensive the parts were going to be, compared to my 5.56 build. Then, as time went on, and I left the military, I had less disposable income, the parts I had went into a box in my closet.

You did, but dang those things are expensive and there is no such thing as a bargain on a used one. Guess I'll just have to shoot yours now and then.

CMMG in general has gotten out of control with there price tags. I will say their barrels are TOP tier and will take abuse

The only down side i could see is the weight but the SFAR seems to address that. What would be the ideal barrel length? The SFAR is made with 16" and 20" barrels that include adjustable gas blocks.
