HOMEMADE NATURAL SKIN CARE FOR BABY BABY WIPES: Mix ¼ cup of Baby or Olive Oil with 2 cups of water and ¼ cup of baby shampoo. Cut a roll of paper towels in half. Remove the cardboard center. Place the ½ roll without cardboard center into an old baby wipe container and pour oil/soap mixture over the wipes. Let saturate into the towels. Use just like commercial baby wipes. DIAPER RASH CREAM Combine 1 tsp. mineral oil with 1 tsp cornstarch and stir until it forms a paste. Add 2 tsp. Zinc oxide and 2 tsp. Antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin or generic of). Mix all ingredients well. Store in airtight container (one of the small tupperware-type is good). SAFE BABY POWDER Use 100% cornstarch instead of perfumed baby powder. It's not only better for baby's lungs and skin, but is easier on your wallet as well. OATMEAL BATH FOR KIDS Grind 1 cup of plain dry oatmeal in a food processor or coffee grinder until it turns into a powder form. Add this to running bath water as you stir water with hands until oatmeal powder dissolves. Oatmeal baths are so good in relieving itching due to chicken pox, poison ivy/oak, diaper rash, etc. Also very soothing in baths for dry skin and eczema. HAND SANITIZER ¼ cup aloe vera gel ¼ cup grain alcohol (from liquor store) 10 drops fragrance oil ( your preference but not necessary; just smells nicer) 1 drop food coloring (nice if making for a gift) Combine ingredients and put into a squeeze bottle. KIDS HAIR DETANGLER Add a small amount of hair conditioner to water, shake, and store in spray bottle. Use after shampooing and right before combing.
