My response: I do not agree with changing school names as a political knee jerk reaction to what is happening in Eastern states by liberal, alt left radicals. Only one political party has advocated this response, and its not representative of the citizens of Oklahoma. The United States has a history of honoring significant notable people that have had a part of making America what it is today. The History of this great country is what it is. There was a war of states rights with slavery on both sides of the North and South that is not taught in our schools today. Revisionist history is that the South had slaves, and the North was there to free them. That is so totally wrong, and in your position as an educator, you should know that and require teachers to teach the correct history. If the voting age constituents in the school district wish to change the name of the school, then that is the method of change, not an arbitrary change by leftist school board members. We have a representative government. Let it work.
