Welcome to OSA!
Done! Doesn't even have grips anymore. One of our mods has them.
Indeed he does. And they make holding and shooting the gun much better.
I keep seeing ads for these, and now the Ruger Wrangler, and kinda think I want one, but I just don't know why...
You guys almost have me convinced!
Price is right and ammo is available now. Really no reason not to.
I've had both the 6.5 and 4.5 inch Rough Riders . . . the 4.5 inch with a 22LR and 22Mag cylinders are pretty cool for the price.
Atwoods has them for a $100 from time to time. You can even find them cheaper than that on black Friday. I haven't found a better $115 gun. Just make sure you check all the screws from time to time.
Adademy used to put them on sale on Black Friday for $99, but I haven't noticed them the last year or two.
The Rough Rider was my first single action revolver. Great gun, had one hiccup when the hand broke after several years of shooting but that was easy enough to replace, and yes, the ejector rod screw does have a tendency to back out. It is still a good value and a good choice for first timers.
That gun is the reason I fell in love with single actions. It is indeed a "gateway" gun.
Atwoods will have them for $99 starting Wednesday.
