A short trip south, you can be in mountain (kind of) and have a beach, too. Along with wildlife refuge, see Buffalo, deer, elk, and lots of history.

If your husband is picky be sure to learn exactly what his dream guns as you put it are. I'm kinda the same way, although my wife has given me nice guns as gifts and I truely appreciate them, not what I was wanting.( And if I want her to know that I will tell her) I will never sell them because they were from her, so they will remain safe queens (5 have never been fired).
I commend you for your research and interest to truely learn more in your quest.
