I actually got to meet Eric at the Oklahoma State Fair a few years ago. We had a beer and talked about all the groups we liked together.

He is a really big fan of Led Zepplin and Cream.

"The House Of The Rising Sun" was named after its occupant Madame Marianne LeSoleil Levant (which means "Rising Sun" in French) and was open for business from 1862 (occupation by Union troops) until 1874, when it was closed due to complaints by neighbors. It was located at 826-830 St. Louis St.

I was playing bass in a college band in 1964, when the "British Invasion" struck, mostly playing USA music known as "Delta Blues."

We had a garage rock band back in the mid 60s, and played all the popular songs at that time. We played House of the rising sun, at a neighborhood jam some older men, said they played that back in the 30's and 40's, but to a folk timing. I didn't know it had been around that long.
