How do I tell if this stuff is snakeshot or blanks, or?

I got my dad's old "cowboys and indians" ammo belt and I'm pretty sure it's been loaded since 1945-1950. I know it's 22, but are these blanks, or snakeshots, or what? It's probably too corroded for me to consider shooting, but I'm curious.
Upon second inspection, it appears to be sprinkled with some steel or aluminum cased Winchester Super X 22 shorts maybe? But I'm specifically asking about the crimped "U" stamped ones.

Just a name. Shoot some paper and check them out. I knew an old man who shot rats with them. Inside his house lol
I use 22 shorts for rats personally, if this stuff works better I'll give it a shot. Is this the same type of rimfire that the Henry Garden Guns are chambered in?
