The recent "speech" by a certain politician sort of got me wondering.

I've known several cannon owners in the past. Never really been interested, but...

I am curious as to what is needed to purchase, own and use a cannon?

Never knew if this as an ATF transfer thing or not.

I'm guessing it would be an AOW transfer?

Or is there actually Federal paperwork involved.

Again, not really looking to get into the market, just wondering.

Thanks.

I think as long as blackpowder it would not have to be registered but I'm not an expert. I have a couple small ones, 50 & 69 cal if I remember right but not anything big although I would like to have an 8 pounder!

Read it here.

Fixed ammunition defined: In artillery ammunition, a fixed round is a complete round in which all components are securely joined by a cartridge case.

Seems you can build a replica to me.

So you can build one of these with no Federal busybodiness?

We have a member on here that builds some pretty wild cannons. I forget his name, double d or something? @dennishoddy knows him. Reading his big multi year build thread makes me wanna build a dang cannon/mortar.
