[QUOTE="aestus, post: 1838133, member: 2989"] I usually splurge for the Asian ramen noodles that come with both a soup packet and a vegetable packet. If you like ramen that's just a little spicy and really flavorful, I recommend 'Shin' brand of ramen and 'Neoguri' brand of ramen. Another good brand is 'Samyang' and is not spicy like the other two. You can actually find Shin Ramen in walmart now in the Asian section. I cook it the normal way and eat it with the broth. Instead of obliterating the eggs in the broth, I'll poach 2 eggs in the noodles and broth in the last 3-4 minutes of cooking. Sometimes, I'll add chopped onions, garlic, mushrooms and maybe add some chicken. For the uber cheap ramen noodles like Maruchan or Top Ramen that comes with cardboard tasting noodles and a packet of flavored salt, I usually end up dumping the soup base and just use the noodles for my own dishes and make my own broth out of chicken stock, miso, a dab of red pepper puree or fermented red pepper paste, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
