How great are EV's going to be for towing?

Just because EVs are completely unworkable doesn't mean we shouldn't rush in head-first and torch everything that does actually work. Why is everyone so against progress???
From what I understand, Toyota built the first EV, Shortly afterwards they realized and made the announcement that our Power Grid is not capable of handling so many. And they were right. Since Calif as outlawed so many gas things, (lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, and such) Now they are telling you to turn off your AC, and don't plug in your cars.
Hello... Wake up People. and now since the hurricane in FL, there is 100's of reports that these EV's are blowing up and catching fire!

I would imagine there were similar comments made about the horseless carriage when it was first invented. I can only imagine the ridiculous comments made to those 2 brothers before they shut folks up at kitty hawk.
New tech has bugs.
There’s just 2 ways to rid a project of bugs, one werks em out or eats em.
Folks who don’t advance/improve themselves fall into stagnation and rot.

I know, and the way they banned trains and such right after those boys took flight. It was a stroke a genius. Otherwise we’d still be using buggies & trains.

I think the price increase was to cover the trailer and diesel generator that you towed behind it. Extension cord to leave it plugged in continuous while driving was second increase. Copper wire is expensive.
I think we need to mount the diesel generator in the bed, I mean you want to tow anything that is.

What is so fudged up, 67 KW Battery, at 5K Watts generator 13 hours to charge. An old school wagon could probably make a 100 mile before the EV P/U on a 20 degree day. You'd do better hooking the 20 HP Motor to the transmission directly.

I saw a guy the other day on Facebook trying to “dispel the myth that EVs are bad for towing”. He managed to tow his 1200lb aluminum framed teardrop trailer with his Tesla Model X and 3 people in the car a whopping 83 miles across Wisconsin before discharging 53% of his battery. Roughly. Honestly, pretty sad. Electric vehicles are pretty neat, and have their uses, but are likely decades from widespread takeover, that’s for sure. Due to the fact that I spend a lot of my time wandering around rural areas and camping in remote spots, I can’t see the logic behind getting and electric vehicle. If I had the money for a 2nd or 3rd vehicle that I exclusively used for a grocery getter/commuter, I would likely get one. Except I don’t have faith in our infrastructure, and I can make less of a “carbon footprint”, save money, and have a longer lasting vehicle just going with a small gas or diesel powered car.

EV’s are not green. Not even close, and until the technology makes giant leaps they won’t be.

I’m all for them being available for those that want to F with the BS that goes with driving one, but when they start mandating them they’ve lost me.

The smart folks need to keep building them and making improvements, and advancing the tech, but until they come up with a true replacement for a gas or diesel engine, they need to keep their slimey, socialist, democratic, unicorn believing hands off my cars & trucks.

The towing range and standard ranges are also effected drastically by temperature. Wonder what the towing range on EV Trucks would be like at 20 degrees Fahrenheit...
Like most info on EVs it's not easy to pin down a number on how much heat affects range. Read where AAA said as much as 41% decrease . But Elon disputed it and said not nearly that high. But didn't offer an alternative number.
