Here, but occasionally There.
Most of my hunting time was in the late '50's and early '60's. And, being in a small town, we didn't have such a thing as TG&Y, so our ammo was purchased at the local lumber yard/hardware store, and I can't remember pricing then. Besides, my "future brother-in-law" was dating my sister and pretty much kept me in ammo.

Texas mandated non-toxic (steel) shot in 1984.
Federal Hi-Power shells were $3.49 in 1974, what we normally shot. 7-11 sold those Remington shotshells and .22LR.
They were no longer going to sell ammo and had marked the shotshells $1 box and .22 $050. Spent every dime I had.
I went home, Dad gave his checkbook, bought every 16 ga and .22LR in town. Spent close to $500, Mom wasn't happy.
15-18 cases of shotshells and 2-3 cases of .22.

Federal still rolls paper hulls for the clay games if you can get your paws on them. Hands down the nicest and softest shooting stuff I ever broke a bird with. Wish I was good enough to get them sent to me like the fella I knew back when.
