I have been getting a lot of questions lately on how to become a certified SDA Instructor. To do this you must be certified as a pistol instructor by one of the following: a. Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training, b. National Rifle Association, c. Oklahoma Rifle Association, d. A federal law enforcement agency e. Tom Givens Instructor course f. Any other professionally recognized national organizations After you have successfully completed one of these courses, and after you recieve a certificate as a Certified pistol Instructor; you must then apply to CLEET to be an SDA instructor. This costs $100. After CLEET approves you as an SDA instructor, they will send you a new certificate and the SDA class curriculum. You must then apply to the OSBI for an instructor license. It is the same application process as getting your handgun license except you check the box instructor on the app. The cost is $100 and its for 5 years only. After the OSBI sends you your new license, you can then teach the Oklahoma SDA class. ~Stephen
