If you plan of trying to sell any of them, do yourself a favor and don't try to clean them. It won't help and can only hurt.
Well maybe then, the steel pennies aren't worth much anyway. However, i have sent coins to NGC and PCGS for cleaning and they came back.....cleaned!

It depends on the penny. Steel pennies are not worthless and some are worth a lot of money. Value is from $.06-$.12 circulated up to $4.50+ for uncirculated. The error pennies can go as high as $400K.
The likelihood of that roll being worth more than $10 is equal to a lightening strike, lol
Go to Walmart and get a thing of jewelry cleaner and let them soak. If they’re a roll of uncirculated, probably worth 10 to 15 bucks.
