I’ve done a couple that had been dead for a while. The rehydrating made the skin soft again. They cleaned up ok but the smell was still there.
I boiled this one in sal soda like normal then simmered it in a pot of dawn dish soap. Since I already had the stink in my nose from before boiling, I haven’t been able to tell if it stinks after cooking.

Ha, totally understand. That’s a smell that is tough to go away after it’s in you smeller.

There’s definitely a little stink left on it. I haven’t peroxided it yet and may not, because it’s only going to be hung up on the wall of my barn up there.
