Try this, douse in
Heinz wine vinegar
Soy sauce
Use copious amounts of
garlic powder
Ground black pepper
And use a pinch or 3 of sugar. Let em set in fridge 2 hours then on the counter to come to room temp for an hour. The to the grill. The vinegar tenderize and all the ingredients together have a similar smell to A1.
You can thank me later.

I marinade every steak I cook with the recipe i posted above. Been told a few times I make the best steak my guest ever ate. Maybe thjey were just being nice or maybe it was the best steak...idk

OK fine .. I'll dig up some Heinz wine vinegar and give it a try.
it may be a bit since I've been eating way too much lately ..
truth is .. I'm getting fat!

thanks for posting info on Green Mt pellet grill
actually thinking of getting the portable version.
hard to justify with all the smokers I've already got.

OK .. will check out walmart deli ..
do most all my gro shopping at Costco, Sams and Aldi
but will make a trip to Walmart to ck out
did score a bottle of wine vinegar (not heinz) at Aldi to try out your steak recipe

here's what's cooking tonight ..
a big ole pot of Cincinnati chili
made with 5.5lb of hamburger meat from Aldi
cooks for at least 8+ hour first night
then it really gets good by second or third day cooking.

it's only cooked about 4 hour or pretty green chili yet
grease will be skimmed off again later

Those other grocers may also sell you a whole bologna log to. I'm sure they will. Just ask.
Let us know how the steak goes with my marinade recipe.
