My first pickup (another Ranger, go figure) I bought for $2000 cash just before I turned 16 (mowed lots of yards for it too). About 2 years later, I was rear ended in traffic while slowing down for a collision in front of me. Insurance gave me $1800 to fix it, which really surprised me because it was minor damage, just a rear bumper, brake light and a tail gate. Never bothered fixing it. Four months later, I got rear ended AGAIN sitting at a red light. I got another $700 out of it (even though I never fixed it to begin with aside from the brake light). 6 years and 110k miles later, I sold 'er for $1800. :) I still miss 'ol blue.
