There is only 200 fps difference. In the real world, that doesn't really make any difference depending on the range given the bullet enters the same area.
Edit: if you're using the correct bullet for the game.
Like I said, Fu$& the .308 and get a 30-06! Have one run 2 yards or 200 yards!

Edit: the only .308 bullets that I could get to group were federal gold medal and Hornady match, not a hunting bullet but shot under 1 inch, everything else was 3 inch plus! Choose your poison or get a 30-06!

Brother my POS savage 10 that someone chopped the barrel to 17 3/4" (with a freaking bad saw) will still shoot 1.5 lol

308 has killed many, many animals. It's just fine for deer.
You do realize you're supposed to aim behind the front shoulder, not the rear legs, right?
Let's put it this way. I've lost 2 deer to .308. Recovered next 3 in a row to factory 30-06 tikka laminate within 5 yards. No love for the .308 here
