Yes I got a text from David's wife. Here is what she said:

"Dave woke up about 10PM est and his breathing tube came out about 2AM. He was sitting up in the chair from 5AM to 9AM. I arrived at the ICU around 11AM. He is resting well. I am letting him sleep as much as he neds to. I'm just grateful to sit by his side.
Thank you Jesus!

Sounds like things are pretty good overall. Glad to hear it.

<edit> Got that about an hour and a half ago, sorry it took me so long to get the update up - it's a crazy day with work and then trying to get things prepared for the coming weekend... gotta run and get 10g of gas for the genny and I should be ready to hunker down for a few days.
