I am wanting to build an ar platform 6.5 Creedmoor

I found a built upper. Can I use a .308 lower with the .308 magazines with the 6.5 Ammo?
Anybody have a good resource for this type of build?

if you have an LR 308 DPMS upper, then you must use a Large frame lower, i.e. most common is a 308. It will take SR-25 mags, but I don't know about the follower, that may be all you would have to change for a Magazine. As to bolts I can't speak to that, as I have zero experience with the 6.5 creed.

if you live in the OKC area I have an Aero large frame rifle and we could see if your upper works with that brand, i used to have Mega Arms large frame lowers but sold them. let me know if you want to check fit it on a lower, or not, your choice.

Yes, 308 lower and mags work with the upper, just make sure you get the right lower. 6.5 Creed in based on the 308 case so everything is enterchangable.

I'd recommend Aero. Unless you get a smoking deal on the upper I'd do an Aero complete.

be certain to get the lower parts kit from the same manufacturer of the lower, the take down pins will vary significantly from one manufacturer to the next.

I'd stay with Aero as it will,match the upper better. Also I also recommend the Larue MBT trigger for $87 on sale right now. Real close to the SSA-E

Where did you get that compatibility list? A LOT of that is wrong. For instance, KAC and Ruger both are not compatible with LR308 frames. Also the DPMS Small Frame has become the most popular since 80% of the parts are compatible with the AR15 parts kits

6.5 creedmore works well in any 308 magazine without modification

if you're going with Aero get a builders kit, upper/lower/handguard would be my suggestion
