I was riding 4 wheelers in Arkansas several years ago, a neighbor who was riding with us was cutting a piece of rope. I mentioned that was a nice looking knife. He handed it to me and it was a beaut! I knew it was a quality made knife and jokingly said I wished he had bought two of them! He handed it to me and said keep it. I said no and handed it back. Guess what it was? A Jimmy Lile folder. Jimmy Lile made very few folders himself. It now resides in a glass case and my neighbors brother who is a knife maker displays it at Knife Shows all over the country. It brings people to his knife tables to see it. My neighbor knew what it was, he really meant for me to have it. It is a joke now about me getting the knife, but in all seriousness I do get it when he passes. This neighbor had a collection of Jimmy Lile knives as well as a collection of Colt Pistols he bought in the late 60’s. He would buy a new Colt every other month when he would go out of town to work, with the extra pay he was getting to do so. He has over 30 of them.
