With a few exceptions, I've been a Blue Oval man since I got my first one in 89. And I'm f___ing cured! One of those exceptions is an '02 Suburban which I'm "renovating" or at least was, until life events have overtaken me. As soon as I took the interior out, all the Fords decided to ____ themselves simultaneously. Nothing mechanical just electronic. For 3 weeks last fall the whole family was sharing whichever operational Ford we had at the time. Currently only mine has a warning light on (airbag system). I'm done looking for the little gremlin until it's time to sell which will be after I get the Suburban put back together. Then that POS is gone. I have no intention to own anything made after 2000 that I haven't stripped all the electronics out of and re-engineered with a crate engine and stand alone systems.

Looking at all the new motors the car manufactures are building now, way too many plastic parts and plastic hose connectors. If you keep your (pick a manufacturer) for a long time the plastic is going to dry out and fail. I think the times of 300 K plus motors my be behind us. What you have to pay for a new vehicle is so out of place with the value you receive and if you have to have out of warranty repairs done by the dealer by a “tech” who will only be able to follow a factory trouble tree with no understanding of what is causing the problem and replacing parts until it starts working or they give up. All at the expense of the owner.

She drives a 2022 silverado crew cab 4wd. It's got about 60k miles. Maintenance always kept up to date. Not super fancy, but has a few bells and whistles. We live outside of the city lights. I hate her truck. Where do I start.... we got it new, since the first week, it's had a cel for the emissions. I clear it and it comes back. I pull the canister off, clean it and after a week, it comes back. Talked to the stealership and they say they offer a relocation kit and it's 1500 to get it installed. No thanks. Had to have new cab vents installed at 35k miles. Old ones dried up and leaked in rain and dust. They tried to get us to pay even though we had an extended warranty. We fought and won. Had to have a new battery at 15k miles. Yea, we paid for that. Now, to the keyless start system. I hate it. When it's cold, it flat doesn't want to start. I've tried new batteries and nothing helps. I hold the brake and press the start button like I'm playing slots and no go. It says "put the key here (by the speedomoter) and try again. I beat that button like it owes me money and after the stars align in the 5th dimension, it'll finally start. Does anyone have an answer as to why it won't start or acknowledge the key being in the truck when it's cold? When I open the door, it says "keys left inside vehicle" then go to start and says "no remote detected". This new stuff is total trash.
In my world, 2022 is still new. 60K is low mileage. In the scope of things, your issues may be premature, but not a dealbreaker. I'm guessing the truck is kept outdoors? That alone can cause your problems and more. If you don't want the truck, I'll take it off your hands.

Can't speak to the 2022 models, but I had a 1980 Chevy Silverado with manual transmission and 4WD to be used on the farm/ranch. This truck also had the much vaunted 350 engine.

At 17,000 miles, the lobes on the camshaft started flattening, thus needing a replacement, and of course, it was out of warranty by about 5000 miles. And yes, regular maintenance was performed.

Then at about 60,000 miles, the engine needed to be overhauled.

Haven't owned a Chevy since I got rid of that one.

Ahhhhh yes

The “good old days”

When a SBC had trouble lasting 90k, transmissions even less and rocker panels /cab corners started rusting in 12-13 days

Sorry about your problems OP. I know you don't want to hear this but......I bought a 23 GMC Sierra in 24, I only have 3500 miles on it, and I am in awe of the quality, every thing works as it should all the time, not a single issue. Reading your posts I think your dealer is trying to screw you. I would call Chevy and get some kind of rep and tell them your problems, then go out and find a new dealer. We used to have (maybe still do) a Lemon Law, look into it. In regards to what your car knows about you, I have Allstate Ins. and recently I signed up for Milewise, which means they charge you by the mileage you drive, I don't drive much. A device plugs into your OBD port and sends data to Allstate, if you go to the Allstate site there is a GPS map with your trips on it, and if you have braked hard or if you go over 80 it's there to, and you will be charged, that's what the world will be coming to. One day you will be charged for the number of dumps you take. But so far it looks like I will save about a 1000 bucks a year. Good luck.
