I was in Nam at the time of the landing and only learned of it about a week later by reading Stars and Stripes so I recently watched as many of the shows about the mission I could find. My question is if Aldrin was the Lunar Module Pilot, why was it that Armstrong took manual control to pick a landing spot when he saw the spot they were heading for was not suitable? Thanks
