If I see something I’m interested in I use Gun.Deals to find the best price I could pay to get it new. Then I decide what my price is on his based on that info, condition, extras, etc. Now, I’ve got him invested a little bit, sending pics, answering questions, just the normal stuff I’d want to know before purchasing anyways. I will send the link or a screenshot to him saying something like “there are a couple variants of your pistol available, can you confirm if this is yours?” I’ve got a few different reactions to that: - “Wow didn’t realize I overpaid or prices must have went down, do you have an offer?” - They try to ignore the pricing listed and just say, “Yup.” - Ignore me or just stop replying all together. Had this one guy though who posts his overpriced crap on here and Armslist. Now I was legitimately interested but not at his price and his post was defending his price with sarcastic remarks. Wanted to troll a bit... I sent him the link ($300 less than his FIRM price). He responded back with “Yep that’s it, my price is still $1200 because you don’t have to go to an FFL and fill out paperwork and show your ID. There is Value in not having it registered to you. Show up with the cash, no questions asked.” I immediately quit communication with him as it’s obviously someone I don’t want to be associated with. Reported it and went along my way.
