I reckon I'm really lucky, got my 1911 back today, and the cracked barrel.
It had to be a squib load that stuck a bullet in the barrel, then the next shot blew both bullets out. [Broken External Image] [Broken External Image] I'd venture to say $112.00 to a gunsmith is considerably cheaper than a trip to an emergency room. When the gunsmith first saw the gun, he said it was a hot load. Now he also feels it was a stuck bullet. I still don't understand how a squib load can cycle the action. If it doesn't have the power to clear the barrel, how can it have the power to cycle that heavy slide? Gas pressure maybe?
