Why .308? What are you going to do with it? Target shoot? Hunt? Compete? What’s your budget? I’m not knocking your choice in any way. .308 is an incredible round. But the rifle you Buy needs to be worthy of the task you intend it for. If you’re just going to plink. Buy a savage Axis. Cheap and really accurate. If you’re going to hunt. Remington 700 has several Models that will work superbly. If you’re going to compete and want a surgical rifle. Browning has some high end off the shelf models that are as good as some custom rifles.

What's your budget.....$400 or upwards of $1,000? Suggesting you want to buy a Winchester or Ruger in 308 is like someone saying, "I want to buy a car."

I did some testing on my savage 18" vs my Ruger 22" in .308
Using IMR 4064 powder.
2863 fps with 150 gr.in 18" savage and 2898 for the 22" barrel using 46.5gr of powder for both.
The Savage is a 10PT-SR. $549 at academy. The Ruger is the Ruger American $379 at academy.
When pulling a bore snake through both guns the Savage takes way less effort.
I know not on your list .
