I’ve got two big redbud branches on the ground. Heard a snap in the lacebark too

And now my electricity starts flickering.

We lost power for a little while . . . had to turn the generator on. Thankfully it came back on within under an hour or so.

Our neighbors have lost a bunch of trees . . . sounding like a bomb going off around us.

Branches are falling all over the neighborhood, the short trees in this new-ish neighborhood don't stand a chance.

Welp, power went out at 9am. Trees down everywhere on my property, including most of the Lacebark Elm that gives me morning shade.
Internet is down, doing this on my phone.
Probably won't hear from me for a while.... Several days, I expect.

Looks like I got a chipper just in time.. Watching limbs break here too..

There was a serious welding show going on close to me last night. Lit up the sky all around but after the flickering, power hung on. Until just before daybreak that is. Went out just long enough for me to get my little 1kw Honda generator hooked up to my heat and heated the house up good. Then I serviced that one and gassed it up and the power came back on.

Gotta love gas heat. That little genset barely throttled up when the heat came on.
