IDPA Sunday Aug 12 OCR&GC

It will soon be time for IDPA at Oil Capital; Sunday August 12 is the date for the next match. Looks like we’ll be blessed with some moderating temperatures. Set-up commences at 0730, sign-in at 0900 and walk-thru at 1000. Match fee is $12 ($10 for OCR&GC members). Expect 100 required rounds or so; bring more ammo, just in case you might miss.

Thanks to all for coming. Results are out BCC email to the shooters. We started on time and finished plenty early, around 12:30. As usual, the evildoers were vanquished from the field of competition. It was a good match for all. I re-learned, the hard way, that it is necessary to detail clean a revolver from time to time; my scores on 3 stages reflect the depth of that discovery.

Are there usually fewer people on the Sunday match?

Usually yes, fewer folks can get a "kitchen pass" to go do recreational things on most Sunday's. On the other hand, some do not have an option to shoot Saturday matches, but can on Sunday.

We have a great time with the Sunday match. Often it is an excellent opportunity to help a new shooter learn more than at a busier match.
