[QUOTE="bigfug, post: 3488743, member: 4864"] Most places outside of temp work, fast food, or entry level positions offer PTO. And employers were required to pay sick employees 2 weeks if they had a positive test, that just ended. But if some sick who cant take the paycheck, and goes to work, is putting their coworkers in the same situation. The sick person can also apply for pandemic unemployment if I remember correctly to offset the loss of pay during that time. There is no logical way to say that a sick person should go to work because they cant afford not to. I wouldnt have as much issue with it, if it werent for contract tracing and quarantining. But because the powers that be have mandated things, and it affects others, without their choices, I have a problem with it. My kid is a varsity wrestler, busted his ass to make weight, and was pulled out of a dual tournament because a kid he has a class with had it. We literally had to pull him off the mat, 2 matches in. I could not appeal it, couldnt return with a negative test, nothing, missed 2 weeks of wrestling and school and there was nothing I could do about it, even though he was never sick. His team went on to win the 16 team dual tournament and were the Shawnee State Dual Tournament Champs, and he couldn't be there. My daughter missed 5 weeks of school because of contract tracing, and was never sick, because of people being selfish. If we treated this like the flu, then I'd say F*** all, and not give two $h!ts.
