A recent discussion about keeping the boxes for firearms made me think. If you contacted the maker of the firearm, could they get you another box for your firearm? I’m sure they would charge a nominal fee. BUT could they? Would they?

I’ll state that it doesn’t really matter to me. If I want a particular firearm I’ll purchase it without a box and paperwork. But for the sake of passing the firearm on to my child, it would be nice to have all that.

Not sure about S&W, but I did get a free new box and manual from Ruger for a MK III once.

I'm thinkin' they probably don't keep 'em very long past production, though.

Yeah that makes sense. I was just wondering if you could get something similar. Maybe even with a serial number on it. Of course it wouldn’t be the original. But something to pass on.

Lots of boxes on eBay along with reproduction labels if you want to get all the info correct.

If you want a box to use when "passing down" find a local wood worker to make a nice presentation box.

Production Labels? How do you get them? From Smith? Or Colt?
