If you were gonna go buy a brand new .22 LR Pistol just to take to the range for fun and plinking, what would you get, right now?

Those are great selections, I have a Ruger Mk III and it is fun, inexpensive, not too loud, and way more accurate than I am.

Something else to consider, is there anything similar to your EDC in function (safety same direction, mag release the same) etc. that would also be honing your existing skills rather than jumping from the corvette to the 4 wheel drive pick up truck.

For me, in some cases consistency breeds consistency. Just my opinion of things to think about.

Browning Buckmark or M&P 22. I have both.

M&P 22 runs great and with size and controls like it's big brothers, is a good teaching gun for people to learn with.
