A few weeks ago, I had occasion to deliver some materials to a homeowner. In my business, I deliver outside, and it's not always necessary for the homeowner to be present - many times I'm not even working for the homeowner.

On this occasion, the HO came out, we had a pleasant conversation. During the course of the conversation, he stated that he was an LEO.

According to the SDA law here in Okra-homa, I am obligated to inform an LEO, at first reasonable opportunity, if I am packing.

I informed him.

He blinked a few times, and said something to the effect that more people should, blahblahblah.

My question - does the law pertain to casual, off-duty encounters such as this ? was I obligated to tell him ?

Or, is the law only for official encounters ?

I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure it's only for official encounters. I've gotten pulled over a couple times while carrying and I just handed my SDA licence over with my driver's license.... no biggie
