Inherited several 50 yr old bottles of whiskey

My grandparents passed away recently and my dad and uncle have been getting their estate in order. They found several old bottles of whiskey that had never been opened with the tax stamps still fully intact. Rather cool! One of the Seagrams VO bottles had the seals fall off so we went ahead and sampled it. Rather pleasant for 50 years old. Never have tried VO in the first place so don’t have anything to compare it too. Yet. Now I just gotta figure out what I’m going to do with it all. I’m more of a bourbon guy so I guess I’ll learn to like something new. I mean old.

Firstly, sorry to hear about your grandparents...may they rest in peace.

Those bottles have all probably turned for the worse and are quite possibly poisionous ...rather than drinking, box them up and send them to me for proper disposal!

You know, a guy could become VERY popular should he decide to invite some, say forum friends, over for a sampling party. However, said guy should advise all forum friends to leave their firearms at home (and bring a designated driver) so as to not add to the self-cleansing of the gene pool.

I have a very old bottle of Scotch I got from my dad's estate. I posted a pic of it on here and was told that there are collectors of old spirits that might make it worth your while to check into.
I don't know the legalities, but since they have the tax stamps, it should make it ok to sell unless they are out of state and the receiving state has their own laws.
