Since moving to OK 18 months ago I still haven't really looked for a good Internist or General Practitioner so I have a reliable doctor I can see when something comes up. I' pushing 52 years old and have always been really bad about connecting with one. While I'm more than a bit overweight, my health in general is pretty decent as far as my full blood work up I had done in December showed. It actually surprised me to some degree.

I have really good insurance through my employeer and have a PPO Gold Plan. I prefer a doctor that is part of a primary care group/practice and one that can give good recommendations to specialists. I need to get in with specialist in cardiology (I have A-Fib), dermatologist and a doctor that specializes in all facets of memory loss, dementia, etc. Would like to find a good group in Tulsa area for convenience sake. If any of you have a good recommendation for an Internist/GP please post up. I would really appreciate it.

My wife has had a very good internal medicine doctor for years.

I will say this. The company I work for is self insured. As in it has always provided some of the best health insurance available and that is not available to the public.

The reason I share that is this Dr has started charging an annual fee just to be seen. Then she charges the insurance for the visit and treatment.

The annual fee is $2,000 a year paid up front just to be seen. Although, not a lot of money if your life depended on it, it’s just an odd practice and I doubt most people want to fork out the extra costs for the privilege to see a doctor.

Obama care is crippling / has crippled the healthcare system in this country.

If you want one of the best doctors in Tulsa, it’s going to cost more than insurance will pay.

I have a great GP and Cardiologist that I would recommend. Dr Adam Greer is my GP/PCP. He is with Ascension St. John and his office is at 81st and Memorial. My Cardiologist is Dr. Greta Warta. Her office is at 61st and Elm in Broken Arrow. If you have any specific questions, let me know.
