I CAN'T STAND HARDCORE PAWN!!! Watched it once ...maybe twice...more than enough. If I want to see that type of craziness I'll wait until Christmas when my family and my wife's family have a "philosophical gunfight". Never a good mix with a bunch of different family members who are highly educated mixed with alcohol. Politics, religion, new scientific ideas, you name it.....instead of a gun fight...it's a trade of words with staring and facial gestures. Anyways.... What little I do know about Gold and Silver Pawn/Las Vegas Pawn Stars: Yes it is totally set up. I have bumped into people who are only in Vegas to "show or sell" their item on that show. They need at least or up to two days to devote to taping the show. They are selected along with their item or rejected. The "buddies" Rick calls in are behind the camera and know WAAAAAAAY ahead what the item will be so they can research it and have an educated response for the seller. Do you REALLY think he calls them and they drop everything to drive to his shop and examine an item....ummmmm NO. Why Rick just has an orgasmic need to shoot those antique guns is beyond me but it has to do with the show and ratings along with the silliness and little drama that goes on. If Pawn Stars were a REGULAR shop like they use to be they wouldn't be on TV. Go to your favorite pawn shop or gun shop here in Oklahoma, take a thermos of coffee and sit back. You'll fall asleep from the lack of drama. Pawn Stars is the 21st Century of I Love Lucy.
