Is there a Law prohibiting carrying 5.7x28?

The Okla. law against "armor piercing bullets" only applies to bullets with a fluorocarbon coating... of which none exist. It's in effect a legal nullity.

No, there isn't any law against carrying 5.7x28, with AP ammo or any other kind. Your friend is full of it.

I carry a 5.7x28 frequently. Was pulled over New Years Eve at a sobriety checkpoint with it, told the Trooper I was Legally Armed and after a few short questions about type of weapon and location being carried I was on my way. Not a word was raised as to the weapon being a 5.7x28. I believe there is a bit of confusion as to not only the type of rounds potentially utilized but the rather high capacity as well. I appreciated the Trooper's professionalism.
