Unfortunately this sounds like most "builders" these days. Many of them take shortcuts to save money on the build but still charge top dollar for the crap they sell. I know of someone that has a two year old home that has had multiple problems since it was new and the builder has not been any help getting things repaired. A woman I was doing a lot of remodel work for was looking at buying a home from a builder that was putting up several new homes in the country club area here. We would go look at the work being done at various stages on the houses after hours and found a lot of shoddy workmanship so I was able to steer her away from using them. It is definitely a buyer beware situation when buying a "new" home just as any major purchase.
