These sentiments for sure. I have two thoughts about it as well. Before pulling the woke card, I would look at this as the business owner. Yes, people are sensitive about guns, but hey, even I get a little nervous around some kid standing around that keeps putting his hand on that chromed out 1911 that he’s carrying in a homemade Tandy leather holster. Having a no open carry sign prevents dumb stuff from happening, “those guys” from showing up, and helps retain your more sensitive customers without infringing on anyone’s rights. Furthermore, if I interpret the law right, if you leave your firearm in the car, it needs to be locked up and secure from anyone else having access. Anyone I know who was a car dealership mechanic has seen many firearms unsecured. There’s no restrictions to felons being mechanics, and it’s easier to put up the sign up to prevent dumb customers from breaking the law and leaving firearms in the vehicle than it is to deal with the liability issues and putting your employees at risk. I had an acquaintance who was a felon an had to deal with something similar, he had to quit because his employer wouldn’t put controls in place to prevent situations like him accidentally stumbling across firearms, putting him at risk of getting locked up after getting his life straight. I dunno about cars, but in the heavy equipment business that is definitely the business model. Parts are typically billed at a 30% mark up.
