I do not understand listings that seem to stick around forever. Either you are asking too much or nobody wants what you are selling. I may renew once or twice then try reducing the price. If it still hasn't sold I give up. Too bad we can't use Craigslist to broaden the exposure, I have had really good luck selling stuff on CL.

It's impossible to provide an objective answer to a subjective question. I don't remember ever seeing an offer that much lower than the asking price before, so that may be the reason for the recent obvious indignation.
I didn't mean just this offer when I said "recent." Seems like the complaining about lowballing has been on the increase for a few months, along with complaining about high price of some listings. Some (most?) of it can probably be attributed to the influx of new sellers that are used to other sites.

Like it or not, OSA is no longer just a listing site for its members that hang out regularly. Anyone can (and does) use the classifieds now, so I guess it should be no great surprise when conflict of opinions on buying & selling arise. :anyone:

Yeah, I've seen them as well. One particular offender doesn't seem to post anywhere other than the classifieds. He and one other poster not only have posted the same ads .......... forever, they insist upon bumping them to the top every day. Plus, that indignity was compounded by the fact that the two of them took up most of the page.

At least, that's what they were doing by the time I put them on ignore. I don't see their ads anymore.

Is there a number or percentage that magically makes an offer a lowball? Or is that amount strictly in the mind of the seller?

Serious question, btw. Newbies often don't have the knowledge and/or experience most of you guys do.

Well, I'll go ahead and chime in and say that some of us "newbies" go back to 2009 when this site was owned by someone else and had a different layout.

some of us "newbies" just got tired of running into ol' badge bunny and getting the ban hammer one or twelve too many times for voicing opinions in general discussion.

if anyone cares to remember, i used to sell sand plum salsa and jelly on this site almost over a decade ago. but i guess due to my "new" account and my post count, I'm a newbie.

I appreciate OSA giving us the opportunity and ease of FTF transactions, but it does not enable them. I can understand the requirement of a post count, hours logged, whatever. But I mean, some people will just spam here to get that count up, is that really better?

IIRC, there used to be a post count restriction for all classified posts, i'm not sure it made much of a difference. but it did lead to me getting banned for trying to enter discussions that i clearly had a minority opinion on, lol.
Do you still have the sand plum stuffies?

Has anyone messaged any seller telling them their price is flipping ridiculous? It may seem like a lowball to them but I’m having a hard time refraining from telling a seller in the classifieds right now that a $650 PSA AR is not worth $900. Same on the $1000 Poverty Pony one too. We went through this same ad a few weeks ago. I just don’t want to offer them a realistic price and they agree and then I gotta explain that I was just effing with them and I don’t really want their gun.............
Just go to PSA and get what you want. Not even worth discussion.
