Do you know how much the cow weighed and roughly how many pounds of meat it will yield ?

I cleaned and quartered it in the field so I missed weighing it whole like some of the other hunters were able to. When they came and got me they had another cow in the truck whole that was almost identical in size. It weighed in about 300 lbs. field dressed. Not sure how many pounds I'll get when it's all done. It's at the processors now and he said he's going to let it age about a week before working on it. I should know in about a week and a half and I'll post how much we go from it.

The elk on the refuge don't weigh as much as the ones that range off the refuge into agriculture.
When I was helping my buddy, there was a biologist from OSU taking tissue and tooth samples.
He said the mature elk off the refuge weigh 150-200 lbs more than the ones on the refuge because of diet.
