New Shields are $244 after rebate on PSA.com. That is dirt @$$ cheap.
Comparable (to the P11) in a full double stack would be the M&P 9c. I think they are almost dead on in size.
There are some good pics online. The shield has a bit longer grip than the 9c when the shield has its extended grip. The 9c is fatter. About the same width as the P11.

If ****** means budget friendly and definitely worth the money then I agree with you as far as the SCCY goes. I actually liked the trigger on the one I had. It's a hammer fired, DAO pistol, so the trigger feels like a hammer fired DAO pistol. Aaaaannnnd......it's a double stack like the OP is looking for.

I'm not saying they're the best thing out there, but they don't suck.
Keep telling yourself that , i' ve seen so many sccy and keltec's **** the bed i would never bet my life on one
