Trump's actions were sent as a message to China and Iran. China does not want a military action in NK. If the US goes in, more than a regime change will occur. It will cause a reunification of North and South with the US having a huge foothold on the doorstep of China.
This is not good for China. As powerful as China is, they do not want a military conflict with the West. Their best bet is to scare the crap out of NK and cause a leadership change. This would insure the continued influence by China and keep the west out.
Before China lets the US launch an attack in NK, it (China) would commit a sizable army and squash the current leadership using the excuse of stabilizing the region. Japan, US, UK, Australia and other western allies would say they are appalled but secretly cheer this action.
Iran will be watching closely because if action is taken in NK, they're next and they know it.
The ship is righting itself. We have been the punching bag for too long. Those countries that have abused us are not thinking "hey...this kid hits back". They don't want to be hit back.
Love him or hate him, he no bs.

Gonna start off with an insult as usual eh?

James Woolsey is a neocon but that doesnt he's always wrong.

I insulted the article, and relayed a pattern of your posting. If you take it as an insult, then you believe in the article?

I read a wide variety of opinions and give them consideration.

What I do know is a widespread EMP would be devastating.
Whether it's from NK or Russia or Pakistan or a large CME like the Carrington event.

They are talking about a 1 Trillion dollar infrastructure spending bill.
Hardening the electrical grid should absolutely be a priority in that.
Prolly won't be though.
Not enough money to be made and no one cares to fix something that isnt broke (yet).

NK and Russia both know that a widespread EMP (hard to pull off) would have no effect on our nuclear strike capabilities or much effect on the military structure that has been adapted to be mostly impervious to EMP's.

That's true, but if Kim thinks his world is about to end he has nothing to lose, does he?
