My BIL and I met up with a friend of ours from TX panhandle at Butch's in Woodward yesterday and shot for a couple hours after lunch at Waggs. As usual, had a good time and Butch had some cool old stuff sitting on the shelves. I picked up 40 rds of AP for my Garand. Shot my HS SportKing, 5" S&W pre10, 4 5/8" Ruger Single Six convertible, and 4" S&W 15

Took my trainee out to the indoor range during a slow part of the shift...showed her some tricks I learned from Steve Fisher's shotgun class before she goes to qual next week.

Tiny little girl, she loved shooting my 12GA 870 SBS with a youth stock.compared to the full-size 870 she was issued when hired. Violin loading was another hit.

Went to Wilshire today to try out speer gold dot in my AK-V, went fine and then I did a little plinking with standard 115 grain and got this.

Be the last time I go shooting for a bit, I have Carpal Tunnel surgery next week and am supposed to go in for a look at my left rotator cuff soon. Better news is the Wilshire Cafe is going to reopen around April 1st.

I was cleaning out some 12 ga handloads this afternoon I didn’t label and didn’t know what they were, and I attempted to imitate Tom Knapp and see just how fast my Super 90 tactical could digest 8 rounds. I’m not near as fast as old Tom was, but loading took longer than “unloading”.

Went out this morning to test out two loads with my Satterlee Test on the Tikka. First 5 at 40.6 grains of H4350 .020" off jam with a 147 grain ELD-M printed what might be the best 5 shot I've ever done with a 6.5 Creed 😳

Group was hard to determine. It was tight, measured right at 3/4 MOA, but the wind was a bassturd and between the cold, wind and wearing gloves, I'm just not sure. I'll group it again with better conditions. Load two at 41.4 was meh. Group was over an inch.
