[QUOTE="dennishoddy, post: 3222786, member: 5412"] Been out of town for awhile but got to one of my hunting areas today to do a prescribed burn. With all the humidity and green stuff already growing, was surprised it lit off. There was enough understory beneath the green stuff to get a pretty good burn. Ended up being about 5 acres. Started sprinkling right when it finally burnt itself out. As a side note rode the 4 wheeler 10.8 miles down fence rows, creeks, waterways, etc finding zero sheds. I’m sure all the moisture we had this winter contributed to that. Next season I’ll drag a disk around the edge to start expanding the thicket. They are like a rhizome. Cut the root and you get a new plant. Quail love the thickets for loafing areas and the deer use it as sustainable food.
