Read that magazine every month when I was a teen along with several others, but OL was my favorite. Jack O'Conner was the shizz!

Later on I started reading Guns & Ammo and Shooting Times solely for Jeff Cooper and Skeeter Skelton's columns. Every..Single..Month...

I think I have every one of those coleman camping units up in the attic somewhere. The lantern and camp stove came in handy during the ice storm when we had no electric for 9 days. That catalytic heater would kill you though in a tent or enclosed area.
The Game wardens in Ok were riding those Honda Trail 90's in 1980 when I first started deer hunting. One rode by my tree stand. Two speed transmissions. Low and high.
Smithy would sell you plans to build a revolver for a buck on one of their little machining centers.
Stopped subscribing to Outdoor life a couple of years ago. My dad subscribed, and I carried on. It became a infomercial with little information useful to the average hunter. OSA has more good hunting info than Outdoor life does now.
