Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington commits suicide

Word is that in addition to substance abuse problems he wrestled with suicidal urges for a good part of his life. Supposedly the product of sexual abuse that he suffered as a child. Extremely sad and in no way coincidental. He chose to take his life on his mentor and good friend Chris Cornell's birthday.

Didn't know the guy (or his band), but it's really sad and such a waste when someone ends their own life.

Gotta say Robin Williams' suicide was the most shocking event of this type for me (so far, anyway).

Sadly, I didn't find it all that shocking. Comedians--and he was truly a great one--are often concealing some of the biggest, scariest demons.

Chester and Chris Cornell were good friends and had performed together. He wrote a big letter about their friendship when Chris hung himself. Yesterday would have been Cornells 53rd birthday. To leave behind 6 kids and a wife would be devastating. Drug abuse isn't pretty some times. RIP....
