Have her try one first. I bought a "Lady Smith" in 357 (but using 38sp) for my wife. It's a beautiful gun but it just has too much recoil for her. I also wish I had picked up a hammerless pistol for her which is better for purse or pocket use. ( can't convince her holster otherwise ) Her's isn't for sale as I like it, just thought I'd share our experience with it.
