We stay at Arbuckle a lot. There are lots of cabins, we always stay at Rocky Point. Full kitchens, satelite tv, unbelievable national park with lots of swimming holes and driving areas. Barely any cell reception, no web. Just about perfect.

Second the motion for Arbuckle. I have the rv park across the street from Rocky Point cabins. Come on down and we'll find plenty for you to do. Horseback riding, zip lineing, Chickasaw Cultural Center, canoe and boat rentals, lots of swimming holes, and much more. I don't think you'd be disappointed.

I would second Okiedog's post. I've not met him but we've been communicating via PM's here with regard to us possibly staying at his park when we return to the OKC area for our youngest son's upcoming surgery.

Well I have to wonder what exactly you are thinking of as a cabin or is it kinda up in the air?

There are a ton of resorts around Branson that look like a big cabin and have a lot of things to do. There are also campgrounds with cabins available. To me that would be a good area to hit for a couple days and be able to find something everyone will like to do. I would suggest hitting the https://www.xtremeracingcenterbranson.com/ go karts. Buy at least two or three fast races for each person, you have to qualify on the slow karts.

There is also http://www.talimenascenicdrive.com/lodging/listing/queen-wilhelmina-state-park-lodge Queen Wilhelmina State Park Lodge. Not a ton around for the kids but can always take them some place and go crystal hunting. Or go to the Crater of the Diamonds state park https://www.google.com/maps/place/C...3192a9a82995de!8m2!3d34.0325478!4d-93.6729312 and get the kids to help dig the wife up a big rock.... Hot springs is also not far away and the area should be very nice to see. I drove through the area on Talimena Scenic Drive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talimena_Scenic_Drive a few years ago and it was very enjoyable for my wife and I. Hot springs is another area that could be interesting but not sure about cabins in the area.

Lake Murray has floating cabins http://www.lake-murray.org/floating-cabins/ so for a weekend of fishing that is the place to hit IMHO. Wake up at 3:00am to pee and toss in a line if you can't sleep. Can't do that renting a boat for part of the day. Also can't lay in bed with a line in the water and a bell to tell you a fish is hooked. Regular cabins are also available.

Beyond those I am out of anything cabinesque to suggest. Personally Branson would be my choice with kids though Queen Wilhelmina would be a good second for the kids who like to get dirty since you can take them to play in the dirt/mud, with Hot Springs not too awful far away.

Lots of stuff to read through here....

We've been talking about it, and we may end up in New Mexico or something, I don't know. I'll pass this along to The Wife. But I will have weekends off from now on, so I will be able to utilize all these suggestions in the future, too. Thanks, everyone!

I like Burnt Cabin Marina on Tenkiller, but no hot tubs. Small place, nice cabins right on the lake close to the marina.

In Branson, we found some cabins south of Silver Dollar City, the names of which I cannot recall, but they were nice. Again, no hot tub, but close to stuff to do and big covered porch on all of them.
