Coat those poles with petroleum Jelly. No more coons climbing.

You can also wrap 24"-30" of metal flashing around the poles a couple feet off the ground. Think "squirrel guard."

Both of these suggestions assume there are no tree limbs overhead where they can drop down from.

When I posted that picture last night, I compared temps on all 5 cameras, and they only varied a couple degrees. The closest one to the river registered coolest, and that one is the furthest.

I agree, but I'll add that it kind of depends on where you're at on evolutionary ladder as a hunter too. If that's a personal best and a really good buck for your area, no one would really expect you to pass him. It also depends on what the hunting pressure is in your area.
